How to choose between .com, .net, .org when making your own business email account?

Whats the difference? How do you know which is right for you?
How to choose between .com, .net, .org when making your own business email account?
Not really any difference between them, they are all top level domains open to any kind of entity. I do believe .com in the most popular.

.com = commercial

.net = network

.org = organization
Reply:Originally there was a convention with the extensions. Now last couple of years there is no restriction. I still prefer the ext in following order,

1 .COM

2 .Net

3 .ORG

Try to stay away from .ORG as it's still mostly considered not for profit organizations.
Reply:If you are running a business, use .com If it's a non profit organization, use .org I'm not sure about .net except it's usually used on private E-mail accounts. Hope this helps.
Reply:.org is for organizations, which I usually associate with non-profits.

.com is for whatever....and I think it would most likely be the most respected, as long as the part that comes before .com is respectable...most likely your business name.

.net...other then for ISP use, I feel is not respectable. I am not sure why, but .net extenstions seem to belong to less reputable places and businesses.

It is hard to tell not knowing what your business is, but when you sign up for your Domain name, they will probably have a place where you can see which is best for your application.
Reply:Think about the people who will use it, I know com addresses are more common so I would use that.
Reply:Along wiht the above, consider that you can now get

,BIZ

and

.INFO
Reply:.com is specifie it is a commercial purpose

eg: yahoo,

.Net is specifie it is a Network(connection with one another companies) eg: VSNL.net

.org is specifie it is a organization purpose

Eg: trust.org(colleges,schools)

.Com is a good thing.
Reply:When registering your domain name, your e-mail address will have the same ending otherwise known as a tld.

.org is used primarily for non profits. (Think habitat for humanity)

.net was ORIGINALLY intended for companies such as ISPs, but is used pretty liberally nowadays. In fact, if you're trying to register your domain name, (i.e. www.company.com), and it's already taken, you could then register (www.company.net) which is what most do. Almost everyone though goes with .com
