Sincerely, Thank you, Thanks, Regards, Best Regards, Toodles or something else?
What is the best way to end a business related email?
Best regards is usually good for all occasions.
Reply:Peace out,
Mary
That's how I sign...just kidding. Sincerely is the most widely accepted in my opinion.
Reply:If it's very formal, the most correct to use is probably just "regards".
This is what I have as my default signature on my email, and use it to sign off on all correspondence. I am an executive assistant, so I have to be very professional at all times (3 piece suit to work, yay!), and it's what I have always been taught is best to use in an unfamiliar business situation.
Gramatically, "best regards" doesn't really fit - "kind regards" is a bit better, but it's a little too friendly for something that is technically business. Unless of course it's a contact that you are always corresponding with, in which case "kind regards" or "thanks" would be fine.
Ah, English! Even for its users, it's eternally complicated!!
Reply:I always end with "Kind regards" or just plain "Best".
