I'm thinking this might seem unprofessional but I like that it sounds cocky
the.best@____.com
any advice?
Is this an appropriate email for a student business card?
No, not appropriate.
You are better off just using your name
Reply:For business cards using your name is more professional. Plus when you give your card to someone, you want them to remember your name! (=

I own a small business and want to send an email newsletter to my 400+ customer base. How do I do so?
Hi Mitch,
I recently had to promote a function through mass emails, and it was not fun!
I found that Yahoo considered I was spamming if I sent more than 300 emails at a time. They wanted me to have an hour space between the first 300, and the next lot of emails.
The process using my basic yahoo address was also very slow.
I know there is Yahoo Groups which may be more suited to mass emailing, but I am not sure how it works.
You also need to test it several times, to make sure it comes out looking how you would expect it to at the other end.
In the end I used my web host to send the emails, they looked professional and as a bonus they sent me a read receipt, or deleted without being read, without the receiver being aware.
Newsletters are a Great Idea for a small business. Don't go overboard in your first one, and spend the rest of the year trying to live up to it.
I suggest you keep it short %26amp; sweet, with lots of contact details.
I send a 1 page monthly newsletter, it subtly reminds people to pay bills, make appointments, and I also forward it to potentially new clients, to show them what sort of support I provide.

http://www.wilsonweb.com/articles/newsle...
1) Create an email account you will send from, for example: ACME_QTRLY_NEWSLETTER@yahoo.com
2) Compile a list of all the recipients and enter them as contacts.
3) Send the email newsletter to yourself in the TO: line and everyone else in the BCC: line so you dont give away their addresses.
Good luck!
Reply:you can use yahoo mail and going to compose then type in their email and click send.
Reply:you can download a business contact manager for free. You can send a fan out email to your contacts or accounts. It's an outlook product so it will mesh well with our email.
Reply:Depending on your budget, and the payoff from sending the newsletter, DataSystemsOnline might be a solution for you. They will provide you with a complete on-line database and your newsletter can be sent automatically to all active subscribers.
Reply:Hi. You can actually get those pirated mass mailing email software. This software will get all the addresses in a text file or a .csv file and embbed it to your template and send out the email. By doing so..every customer will receive an email with their name on it. It will look like you address it to them only but actually u are mass sending it out. I can't recall the name of the software at this moment but you can search for mass mailing software. Its better than using yahoo or other personal email.

Why isn't business email working?
Access to business email has been intermittent since yesterday afternoon. Luckily I can rely on my blackberry for basic service.
Why isn't business email working?
Same here,. Try using updating your flashplayer at www.adobe.com, and using Mozilla Firefox. Worked for me.
Reply:Exactly, same here. Thank goodness for Blackberry. It was intermittent yesterday and now today I can't get into my business mail at all. Worse yet today, I'm not really sure I'm getting all my business email mail arriving in my Blackberry as it shows only one email for today which is highly unlikely. I keep getting Error Code 14 when I try to get into my mail. I was offered the option to email Yahoo about it and I have.

How do I setup a email address for business using .org?
You would have to buy the domain from a domain registrar. Try something like godaddy.com
Reply:you need to setup a web domain with the .org address
then find a host for the domain, and your email.
Relatively simple if you have a name you want that's not taken.
(to not sound rude - i meant that there isn't much to getting a domain registered and hosted.)
As the previous person suggested you can do the whole thing from godaddy.com (it's what I use typically)
They will also tell you all the information you need to use your web site and email addresses.
If you are confused and want help - feel free to email me and I'll step you through it

Signiture on business email account?? help please!?
I am trying to create a signiture for my business e-mail account. Everytime i send an e-mail it doesn't post the signiture. When i send an e-mail from my primary e-mail it will post the signiture. What is going on here?? Anyone please help.
Signiture on business email account?? help please!?
When I click "Add my signature to all messages" for my Business Email account, will this add my signature to all my email addresses?
No. It will add your signature only to messages sent from your default email account (you can designate this in the Accounts section of Mail Options). All of your email addresses can have unique signatures 鈥?including your aliases, if you have Business Mail 鈥?allowing you to tailor your signature to each address from which you're emailing.
Remember: Your Business Email signature will never affect your Yahoo! Mail account. Your Business Email and Yahoo! Mail accounts are completely separate (although tied to the same Yahoo! ID).

Reply:One thing you can check ... Go back to your business email account, click on Options on the top right corner, and go to Signatures.
Once on that page, under where you composed your signature, make sure there is a checkmark in the box beside "Add signature to all outgoing mail".
Also, when composing your email, in the lower left, should be a box that will allow you to add or not add the signature as required.
Hope this helps.

Has your usage maxed out? You can check this on the first page that comes up when you get into mail.On the right of the screen, there will be a green bar that shows how much of the email storage you have used and how much is left, if it is full, then you must delete a lot to get your space back. Also if this is a paid account, and you used a credit card or bank account,be sure to check the balance, and make sure that there was enough funds for the service when withdrawn, its best to check your last statement.

Mac OSX 10.5.6 disables Yahoo Business Email access.?
Is anyone else having problems accessing their Business Email after updating to 10.5.6? Any fixes? Solutions? I can't run my business without this email!!!
Mac OSX 10.5.6 disables Yahoo Business Email access.?
Yes, those of us who rely on Yahoo bizmail on a Mac all seem to be having this problem with the 10.5.6 update. I found similar posts on other forums. You can still access bizmail through Mozilla Firefox or another non-Safari browser until Apple and Yahoo figure this one out. Or you can use a POP/SMTP e-mail program (like "Mail" in OSX) to access your messages.

Can you help me with an idea for an email address for my new pampered chef business?
Have you created a name for you business yet? Usually most business use the person's name followed by the business' name:
name@companyname.com
firstname_lastname@companyname.com
firstname.lastname@companyname.com
So that's what I would do so that your customers can easily identify you and you can build your company's brand to make it seem more professional. If you haven't came up with a company name for your pampered chef business yet, I would recommend doing that first.
Hope that helps and good luck. =)
Can you help me with an idea for an email address for my new pampered chef business?
I don't know what a Chef business is, and I have been a Chef! It must be an American term.
Anyway I suggest you think in terms of getting a domain first, then you can have any email addresses you want.
pamperedchefbusiness.net and pamperedchefbusiness.info pamperedchefbusiness.us are available if a bit of a mouthful they surely describe a..... pampered chef business!!! LOL.

Is it considered spam if I send someone who is in a similar business, a permission email asking if I may send?
them info on my business because I think they may be interested in the program? I send none of my business info with this permission email and do not contact them again unless they request more info. So is asking a fellow business man/woman a simple question considered spam?
Is it considered spam if I send someone who is in a similar business, a permission email asking if I may send?
I would not so consider it. As long as your contacts are reasonably expected to be interested in what you are trying to sell, and you do not send subsequent messages without authorization, it would not be reasonable to criticize your activity.

How do you get a business email address? for example "myname@mybusiness.com? instead of ___@hotmail.com?
you need to do the following :
1) Buy the domain yourbusiness .com
2) Get a mail server ( A pc with internet and a SMTP service running )
3) Change your domain names MX records to point to your mail server IP.
So when peopel send mail to your somain their mail client will check your domains MX records then connect to that IP and send the mail down to your server via SMTP ( port 25 ) your SMTP server would then recieve the mail and put in folders for you..
Do a search for mail server software of google.
Or get hosted exchange.. http://www.Star.net.uk do hosted exchange mail for you. And wil even provide you internet connectivity.
Enjoy.

You have to own a web mail system which registered under business name. This may cost much if you want to do it.

Or get hosted exchange.. http://www.Star.net.uk do hosted exchange mail for you. And wil even provide you internet connectivity.
Enjoy.
How do you get a business email address? for example "myname@mybusiness.com? instead of ___@hotmail.com?
You have to own a web mail system which registered under business name. This may cost much if you want to do it.
Reply:Go to mail.com and sign-up for a mailbox.

I have a yahoo small business email and looking to personalize it to be a letter head. I know i would go into the signature place, but does anyone know of a free site that i would do that in then copy a code and paste into the signature?
Small business email?
I don't know if these are free sites but you will find out once you download and install the programs. If they are not just exit installation when it calls for it.

How/where do you set up an email account for your own business?
ex: janedoe@janeshairdesign.com, can you make an email account for you and those who work for you without using yahoo.com, hotmail.com etc.?
How/where do you set up an email account for your own business?
You can register an e-mail account everywhere, like at an ISP like Verizon.
http://netservices.verizon.net/portal/li...
Or a company that offers business e-mail acount hosting like this one:
Everyone.net
http://www.everyone.net/business-email-h...
Reply:Yes you can do that. You need to register a domain for yourself (like janeshairdesign.com) and then purchase an email solutions for it.
There are many sites that give you this as a package like - www.networksolutions.com
.
Reply:contact an internet service provider that also has a hosting service. Not all of them do, but check around.
Reply:yeah. you can register such email addresses. you have a variety of providers.yahoo does it that way for a price too. you can also visit http://www.net4domains.com

Business email or more?
Hi, I just came across an email my husband sent to a woman who works at a firm that does business with my husband's firm. It was initiated by my husband and the subject was "Happy Holidays". He was wishing her happy holidays and saying something lame. I got the impression it was an excuse to touch base with a potential client....until I read the closing. It was signed "warm regards".
this struck me strange. Am I over reacting or is this normal business speak? He is in his late 40's. Thanks.
Business email or more?
Unless he has given you a reason not to trust him in the past then I see nothing wrong with what he said, even if he does have a shaky past it would be a streach to read to much into "warm regards"
Reply:All of my business emails to clients and other businesses in the industry are signed off "kind regards". And I dont mean anything personal by it. "Warm regards" is a little more personal, but it is probably still accepted in the business community as being polite and friendly to clients etc, particularly during the holiday season, when we all feel a little warm and fuzzy. I wouldnt be worried about it. The tone of the email certainly sounds like business, not pleasure.
Reply:Your instincts are right. He was connecting for personal reasons. Sorry.
Did she reply?
Don't say a word and keep copies of the email and records of anything to come.
Men are scum.
Reply:Business is Business %26amp; pleasure %26amp; business can mix.
Reply:Over reacting if that's all that caused you to be alarmed.
Reply:Probably overreacting but stay alert.
Reply:He's screwing her because you are shitty in bed.
Reply:I really don't see the problem.

Can my employer see my personal email since it is linked with my employer's Small Business yahoo account?
i already had a personal yahoo email account, and then i linked it to my employer's Small Business classic yahoo email account. Can my employer then check and monitor my emails in my personal yahoo email account?
Can my employer see my personal email since it is linked with my employer's Small Business yahoo account?
it may be possible , if the two were linked
Reply:If you are linked to your employer's account, I imagine it would be possible for him to monitor your emails. I personally keep my own email account completely separate from my work one. At our firm you can get in trouble for even checking your personal email during business hours.

Business email address?
Im about to have my own business and I would like to know where I could create a free business website and what is a great business email address
Business email address?
If you've definitely made up your mind to go with a free website, make sure you don't use one that has ads, that is the kiss of death for a legitimate business that wants to be taken seriously. I can only think of one that offers a decent packages with no advertising, and that's http://xthost.info/. You get about 30MB webspace and FTP access, but no email.
When you buy your domain name with GoDaddy, you get a free basic email account.
I would highly suggest you go with a paid hosting service though, you get far more features, tech support, guaranteed 99% uptime, etc. You can't complain about much when you're not paying for the service. :) I know you want to save money when you're just starting out, but dont' skimp on the important things!

Good luck with everything!

Why can't I open my email. Its a serious problem and causing me business loss?
Recently when I want to access my email my computer says "cannot find server" Why after many years of satisfactory service from Yahoo is this problem occurring. Its extremely annoying.
Why can't I open my email. Its a serious problem and causing me business loss?
Yahoo is currently updating Mail classic accounts, it just hasn't hit all users yet. During the updates problems may occur. To read about the changes go to this link: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/cl...
A possible intermediate solution: log in, when it says "URL can't be found" go back to yahoo without logging out. Then click the mail button on top right. Any new messages should drop down. Right click on a message and select "open in new window".
In case this doesn't work either:
Easy Access:
In case your problem isn't resolved right away go to the link below. It is a site which lets you work with some basic mail functions.
http://us.m.yahoo.com/p/mail
Access Alternative:
Go to: http://services.mail2web.com/FreeService... - this is a free, secure and anonymous web based service which lets you retrieve your mail from almost any POP3 or IMAP4 email server, no registration is required.
Reply:could it be somthing ur firwall on ur security system has band or maybe it could be a virus that has corrupted ur files i seriously would consider reinstalling ur yahoo again if this problem persists u can try rebooting ur modem maby the problem is there i hope this helps xx
Reply:Yahoo has been doing some maintence and updating on the classic mail lately, causing the server to go on and offline at times. Many others with the same issue. Doesn't last very long. Keep trying. The classic mail is changing.
Reply:try it with a different computer

I need to set business email address in Outlook, I got the domain purchased through GoDaddy...?
What are the next steps? I know I need to go to tools, then email accounts, but nothing more than that! Help greatly appreciated!!!
I need to set business email address in Outlook, I got the domain purchased through GoDaddy...?
Does an email account automatically come with the domain? Did they provide you with an email server and the POP / SMTP information? Lots of questions. The next step would normally be to set up a place to place your business website which would normally include an email server/smtp/pop server. if GoDaddy provides this, then I would check the start up email from them for the information on how to setup your personal email for using their email servers.
hope this helps and Good Luck.
Reply:Domain is just a name.
Web Hosting + pop3 mail service is not free.
You could setup your own server with dynDNS -- but for like $13 a year and 20GB of bandwidth a month its not really worth your time.
Reply:go to Help section in Outlook ... you can find more ... they have a way for you to start with your very own business Outlook ...

Reply:This is too much to answer in one question. You will have to add an account and put in your POP and SMTP server information. This will be given to you from GoDaddy. They should be the ones you are asking.
Reply:Your domain name has nothing to do with your e mail. The domain name simply directs people to the place where your website is stored and that is ALL it does. Your internet service provider has your primary e mail account in outlook. All you have to do is link your e mail on your website to your e mail addy. If you want another outlook express e mail account through your ISP you will have to create one. Most ISPs provide you with more than one e mail account. Go to your ISPs website and configure a new account or use your existing one.

Why is my business email account that I'm paying for rejecting incoming messages?
This is in reference to my orders@supplywerks.com
Why is my business email account that I'm paying for rejecting incoming messages?
Normally it is the spam control settings that stop incoming messages so that your paid account is not spammed with junk mails. Please check 2 things: -
1. If you have a spam filter control (normally in the settings/ preferences area), make sure the spam filter is not set to high.
2. If it is a specific address you are not getting mails from, please contact your mail accound handler (the web host company who is controlling supplywerks mail server) and check if they have enlisted that specific address in their spam list. If so, they need to clear it from their list so that you can receive mails from that address.
3. If you are unable to get any incoming mails, please make sure you are setting up the pop (post office protocol) and smtp (send mail transfer protocol) setting correctly as are told by your mail server management.
Reply:do you have the servers set up right?
if you are using outlook,
incoming:
pop3.supplywerks.com
outgoing:
smtp.supplywerks.com
I think that should work.

Trying to set up a distribution email in my Yahoo small business email account and don't know how.?
I have set up an email called info@ndbproperty.com. My goal is to forward any emails sent to info@ndbproperty.com to multipe addresses of other people in my company. It doesn't seem very intuitive on how to set it up. Can someone please help?
Trying to set up a distribution email in my Yahoo small business email account and don't know how.?
Click on the "Addresses" tab to open your address book. Fill out the form at the top of the window for each contact. Go to the bottom of the list and select "Add To Category", click into the "New Category" box and give it a title that best fits your company.
If you have other contacts in your address book that you don't want on this list, first check the boxes next to each name you want in this category and click add to category.
You can always go back and "Edit Categories" by clicking on that option in the "Address Book Options."

Getting a Business email to link to a Yahoo! ID?
Is it possible to link a business email address (i.e. joeschmoe@buymystuff.com) that is hosted on Yahoo! to a Yahoo ID. The Idea here is so we can check emails with Yahoo!'s webmail rather than a third party email software like Thunderbird or outlook
Getting a Business email to link to a Yahoo! ID?
I would say see if you can set up a pop3 account with yahoo and your existing email that you speak of. Theres usually a how to on pop3 importing. I believe yahoo supports it as well.

Business email service provider. Which one should I choose?
I want a stable, fast and professional mail service provider, cost won't be a problem. So what do you have in mind?
Some of them I know, but I have completely no idea which one should I choose, please help

Business email service provider. Which one should I choose?
It frustrates me immensely that people pay so much for services like this.
I do business hosting at only 拢15 per month which has unlimited email addresses web space etc.
Even if you never used the web space and only used the email addresses and the 10000 MBs of bandwidth per month you would save heaps.
Frustrating to watch people get ripped off

Business email etiquette?
As a male...addressing multiple females in a business environment...would the use of 'Ladies' as a greeting be acceptable in an email?
Business email etiquette?
You are best off greeting in a non-personal or very general way, i.e.
"Good afternoon," or "Good afternoon all".
You run a risk of offending someone if you use the term "ladies", as that can have derogatory connotations in our society, unfortunately.
Reply:just the feminine counterpart of how youd address males. I would just say "hello" or "greetings" or something. If you had to address them as a group at some point, id use ladies, such as "i need you ladies to do something"
Reply:It wouldn't bother me at all, and I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't offend anyone of the other women in my office. I don't see why anyone females would be offended by being called ladies.
Reply:Depends on how well you know them.
Reply:yes, why wouldn't it be.. you don't call them "hello women"..
ladies is fine.
Reply:I think it's all in context. Just make sure it doesn't sound sleezy.

How do you set up a yahoo business email acct on a blackberry 7250?
While this may vary from network to network, this is how you do it for a Verizon account.
1. Log in to the blackberry internet service. You can either use the "E-mail settings" icon on your blackberry or login to the webpage for your provider. Use the link below to find your provider's page:
http://www.discoverblackberry.com/person...
Once you have logged in (or created an account and then logged in), click on email accounts.
Go to "add an email account"
Enter your email address and password information.
Click on "next". You should receive a confirmation message that the account has been configured correctly.

Where do i put in signature for business email?
Both Yahoo! and Gmail have auto-signer. I use them. (Places formatted signature at end of email. End of email, if you're talking about where in the email. If you're talking about where in Yahoo! then it's Options tab at upper right, Compose thingie, second item down on resulting screen.

Looking for a good business web host with fast/reliable email support.?
Right now we're using Network Solutions, and we've noticed that the email can be really slow and it takes a long time for messages to transfer. We also require remote MYSQL connections.
Right now I've got my eye on Hostgator %26amp; Justhost, they seem pretty good for the money. Anybody know how reliable the email is with these companies?
Looking for a good business web host with fast/reliable email support.?
I recommend you to manage your email through Google Apps:
http://www.google.com/a
It works great, you basically get Gmail but with your own domain name. It's free for up to 50 email addresses per domain name. And of course if you prefer a desktop email client for managing your email, you could easily turn on pop3 or imap. You also get the google calendar and some other apps. Check them out!
P.S. For web hosting I recommend Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html
They are very similar to Hostgator, but offer even better value for the price. They even offer to setup Google Apps for you during sign up.
Their standard price is $9.95/month ($119.40/year)
but you can use the promo code PLUS and get
$50 discount +2 Free domain names.
Disk space: Unlimited
Bandwidth: Unlimited
2 Free domain names
Unlimited domains and subdomains
Price: $5.78/month ($69.40/year)
Reply:Check also the plans of My Webbie Hosting. You can have a hosting plan for as low as $3.95/month which already includes a free domain name, 1.5 G disk space, 50 email accounts with antivirus and spam protection, 2 mailing lists, 150 G monthly data transfer, MySQL database, 24/7 phone and ticket support, and one-hour ticket response time.
Reply:So, i'd recommend Hostgator for it is more reliable than Justhost.
after running with hostgator for a few months and had zero downtime and the forum and blog and email have been very fast. We鈥檙e sure that hostgator is very fast and stable web hosting provider.

If i sent an email to a business anonymously, is it possible for a techie to find out where it came from?
an email sent to a business from home. a site that asks for questions or information, etc.
If i sent an email to a business anonymously, is it possible for a techie to find out where it came from?
Yep.
Reply:Yes using your Internet Protocol Address, if you have a broadband connection it's easier to track it, if it was a dial-up it would take time.
http://www.danasoft.com/sig/BlueDragonEm...
Reply:It is possible but they would need to contact your ISP to find out who you are and your ISP won't give out this information unless there is something criminal involved.
Reply:Yes. All of the communications here and in any kind of internet cafes can be traced, especially by the good IT people. By snail mail, it's a lot safer but it will take 3week or more before it reaches its point of destination.
Reply:Yes. If they wanted to waste the time and energy.
Reply:Theoretically YES, though it may take some (or a little more then some) time and efforts...

How do I know if a business is real after they sent me an email and I had never heard from them before?
Common scam.
When they get her bank info they will clean it out.
It's a take on the Nigrian scam which I have seen myself at least a dozen times.

Reply:This is a scam. Ignore it.
How in the world could your daughter be related to a person in another country and she inherit money from him but not you? It makes no sense whatsoever.
Money does not rain from the sky. If it looks too good to be true, it is.
(And attorneys are paid a fee, they never get a percentage of the estate. Also, attorneys would send you a check, not demand that they wire money to you.)
Reply:Reputable companys can be reached by phone as a minimum.
Reply:I would be very leery too. The clue (if it's dishonest) would be if they asked her for some money for something or other.
Reply:Its definatly A Scam. I Get Between 10 And 15 Per Day! Just Ignore Them. And Report As Spam.
Reply:This is a well known scam, I have had similar sent to me in the past--next she will probably be asked for help to get oil money out of Nigeria--ignore it--you will be the one paying the money--and you will never see anything again.

Are these business or job opportunity email real? They are seeking a US representative?
Fraud. Don't fall for it.
A lot of these ask you to process credit card transactions using your merchant account. They send you reciepts and you deposit them. The banks let you wire money based on those deposits and you think you are making great money because you can keep a certain percentage.
30 Days later you start getting charge backs because the "sales" were forged. The bank comes after YOU for all the bogus sales and chargebacks. Meanwhile the money you sent is in the hands of the crooks. You either pay the bank back or face law suits.
Reply:no, they take your money out of your account instead
Reply:Why would you ever believe an unsolicited email, about anything?

Sending mail to my yahoo mail from my business email, always winds up in Bulk. I'm not a spammer. What gives?
Anytime, an email with business e-mail address would be recognized by the Spam Guard as suspected spam. Unsolicited mail from telemarketers and ads would look similar to your e-mails. You should add your e-mail address to your address book to avoid this.
And if they end up in your Bulk Folder, mark it as Not Spam. It will get rerouted to your inbox as directed by you in your setting.under Bulk or Spam Protection. You'll find this under Spam +Not Spam in your Mail Options located on the right hand of the Yahoo Mail page. Once in your inbox; you can mark this as Not Spam. This will get forwarded to a Yahoo Customer Care Associate for a careful review. Yahoo will attempt to deliver the future messages from the same sender to your inbox.
You can also go to Filters under Mail Options. Set up or create a filter to redirect messages to any folder you wish. Makes sure the headers from each message is specific.

Many companies do not want their employees using the internet access to do games or personal business while on the job so they set up blocks so that employees cannot access certain parts of the internet. They also review on a certain schedule what websites are being accessed by all employees. Watch out because BigBrother may be watching you!

RBI cautions against Internet fraud
K.P.M. Basheer
India is a prime target for international financial fraudsters
--------------------------------------...
Many Indians duped by fraudulent offers. Fraudulent offers even use RBI’s name
--------------------------------------...
KOCHI: Against the backdrop of an increasing number of “robbery using Internet” by international gangs, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has come out with a caution to the public.
In a notice published in leading newspapers, the RBI warns that “fraudulent offers of huge money in foreign exchange are being made through letter/e-mails by certain foreign entities or individuals, including Indian residents acting as representatives of such entities or individuals.”
In the caution, titled ‘Beware of fictitious mails offering money,’ the RBI says: “The offers of huge money in foreign currency are made to resident individuals/entities (including schools/hospitals) on the pretext of helping them in their business/ventures in India.
Once the contact is established, the entities request for details of bank account of the individual or Indian entity and ask for some amount to be remitted to them as initial deposit/commission so that the offer money could be transferred.”
The fraudulent offers even use the RBI’s name and copies of fake RBI certificates or deposit receipts to win the gullible public’s trust.
The RBI says it does not maintain “any account in the name of individuals/companies/trusts in India to hold funds for disbursal.”
Pointing out that some of the offers related to winning money in lotteries, the bank warns that remittance in any form for participating in lottery schemes is prohibited under the Foreign Exchange Management Act 1999.
With the expansion of Internet use, fraud over the net has been on the rise around the world.
India being an emerging economic power with thousands of young entrepreneurs starting new ventures every year, the country is a target for international financial fraudsters.
They send out e-mails offering “highly profitable” business ventures. Some of them offer clandestine deals for parking their “millions of illegally earned dollars.”
One such e-mail “from the desk of Mr. Kofi Hassan, director of International Commercial Bank in Ghana,” which landed in the inboxes of some people in Kochi reads: “I am a banker by profession from Accra, Ghana, in West Africa, and currently holding the post of director for the Auditing and Accounting unit of the bank. I have the opportunity of transferring the leftover funds ($11.5million) of one of my bank clients who died along with his entire family on 31 July, 2000 in a plane crash. You can confirm the genuineness of the deceased persons by clicking on this website. (The URL of a British TV corporation is given).
“Hence, I am inviting you for a business deal where this money can be shared between us in the ratio of 60/30 while 10% will be mapped out for expenses. If you agree to my business proposal, further details of the transfer will be forwarded to you as soon as I receive your return mail.”
At the end of the mail, a questionnaire seeks a lot of personal and communication information of the e-mail recipient.
The RBI caution comes after innumerable Indians got trapped by such fraudulent offers.

Reply:It's Spam and surely high risk of fraud! I was working in a bank and believe me, there are no unclaimed money, that the can transfer to somebody else than it's legal owner. If they got some "unclaimed money", like in case of the jewish money left by swiss banks after the WW2, the bank is obliged to keep it on a trust account and pay some interests. It is not allowed to give it to anyone. Except he the legal owner of the money having good proofs and he can claim it with a courts ruling.
Reply:This is commonly known as the "Nigerian Scam" as it is a form of a scam that was and probably still is prevalent in that country. Do not reply to these types of e-mails as they are very skillful in manipulating people. Law enforcement all over the world have been trying to break these groups up but to no avail. They scam hundreds of thousands of dollars out of people every year - not all goes reported because of a couple of factors: Embarrassment or believing it was a legit business loss (they con business people as well - they're that good).
Never put your trust in an unsolicited e-mail.
Reply:This is a famous email scam wherein it is said that a rich millionaire has died and his fortune could be yours. They will start by asking basic questions about your bank details. Then they will say that you need to send some money for processing. Once you send the money they will just vanish.
Avoid such things as the saying goes, "There is no FREE LUNCH"
Reply:To scam you, as usual. Delete it, don't even read it. Report it as spam. The monies left over by a dead soldier would go to his next of kin, and if there isn't any kin, it would sit in an American account the govt. has just for these purposes.
Reply:ive gotten it before so have my friends its someone sending it so that they can get the money out of ur bank account. this is a fraud, spam, lie and threatning thing tell ur friiend tio delete it immediately.

delete the mail and forget about it,sir
Reply:its SPAM mail. i have also got this time of mail a number of times
kindly ignore it
Reply:It's a scam. Never trust any of this kind of emails. I got at least 3 to 4 every week.
Reply:my yahoo is filled up with such mails
because of that i had to switch 2 gmail
Reply:ever hear this one? why did the chicken cross the road...

Reply:a variation of the 'classic' nigerian 419 advance fee fraud scheme, so called because of the sheer number of such scams that originate from the country. The scam is not restricted to Nigeria, many scammers from all over the world are involved.
Here is text from the FBI website concerning such scams. Although the specifics may be different, believe me, the underlying scam is the same:
Nigerian Letter or "419" Fraud
Nigerian letter frauds combine the threat of impersonation fraud with a variation of an advance fee scheme in which a letter, mailed from Nigeria, offers the recipient the "opportunity" to share in a percentage of millions of dollars that the author, a self-proclaimed government official, is trying to transfer illegally out of Nigeria. The recipient is encouraged to send information to the author, such as blank letterhead stationery, bank name and account numbers and other identifying information using a facsimile number provided in the letter. Some of these letters have also been received via E-mail through the Internet.
The scheme relies on convincing a willing victim, who has demonstrated a "propensity for larceny" by responding to the invitation, to send money to the author of the letter in Nigeria in several installments of increasing amounts for a variety of reasons.
Payment of taxes, bribes to government officials, and legal fees are often described in great detail with the promise that all expenses will be reimbursed as soon as the funds are spirited out of Nigeria. In actuality, the millions of dollars do not exist and the victim eventually ends up with nothing but loss. Once the victim stops sending money, the perpetrators have been known to use the personal information and checks that they received to impersonate the victim, draining bank accounts and credit card balances until the victim's assets are taken in their entirety. While such an invitation impresses most law-abiding citizens as a laughable hoax, millions of dollars in losses are caused by these schemes annually. Some victims have been lured to Nigeria, where they have been imprisoned against their will, in addition to losing large sums of money. The Nigerian government is not sympathetic to victims of these schemes, since the victim actually conspires to remove funds from Nigeria in a manner that is contrary to Nigerian law. The schemes themselves violate section 419 of the Nigerian criminal code, hence the label "419 fraud."
Some Tips to Avoid Nigerian Letter or "419" Fraud:
If you receive a letter from Nigeria asking you to send personal or banking information, do not reply in any manner. Send the letter to the U.S. Secret Service, your local FBI office, or the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. You can also register a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission’s Consumer Sentinel.
If you know someone who is corresponding in one of these schemes, encourage that person to contact the FBI or the U.S. Secret Service as soon as possible.
Be skeptical of individuals representing themselves as Nigerian or foreign government officials asking for your help in placing large sums of money in overseas bank accounts.
Do not believe the promise of large sums of money for your cooperation.
Guard your account information carefully.

Business email etiquette?
I represent a large global enterprise. I am having a disagreement with a colleague. I feel that when emailing to formally introduce yourself and the company, traditional letter format should be followed - date, complete name, title, address, etc... he differs with me. He feels that it is not necessary. Does anyone have a pointed reference? Thanks!
Business email etiquette?
I don't have a pointed reference, but it seems to me that following the style conventions for traditional business letters in an e-mail is somewhat redundant.
After all, your e-mail application automatically includes the date, and I believe it's more accepted and reader-friendly to have an e-mail signature at the end of your message that includes your name, title, address, etc.
E-mails -- particularly business e-mails -- are best kept as concise and easy-to-read as possible. So I'd say it would be much more effective to forgo the traditional letter format, include a professional-looking e-mail signature and keep the content of your message as brief and informative as possible.
Reply:The goal is to make a good first impression. I think the more conservative approach is less likely to offend. Of course, it depends on your audience. If you were writing to some internet startup you might consider the less stuffy format.
Reply:I agree with you. It seem awkward but I can't think of why it would be different. Unless your name, title, address, etc. is at the bottom of the email with your name. Then i suppose all you would need on the top is the date, which really they will have because it automatically give the date when the person receives it. So I guess I don't know. Maybe you are both right!
Reply:It's evolving. In 1996, it was considered rude to use any uppercase letters in email. Business email looked like this:
hi dave jones,
the team and i want to get together for lunch :-)
don johnson
Though caps and punctuation are good, I think the body of an email should always remain informal ... like a hand-written note stapled to a formal business letter. If you want to send a formal business letter by email, I'd suggest attaching a PDF of it and using the body of the email for a short "hello."
Reply:The traditional information you mention is typically included in the signature file at the end of an e-mail. Otherwise, when e-mailing for business purposes, I advise folks that if they treat their e-mail as though it is on company letterhead -- they'll never go wrong!
I have several articles on my site you may find interesting, "Signature File Dos and Don'ts" and "Business E-mail Basics." Just go to NetManners.com and click on E-mail Etiquette Articles.
HTH! ;-)

Why is Yahoo falsely identifying my business email as spam?
I have just set up my own business, but clients keep telling me that my emails (username@blondeandbrown.co.uk) have been going directly to their 'junk' or 'bulk' folders. This is also the same for Hotmail. My emails are not spam and never contain info that could be treated as. Could this be a problem with my domain name being blacklisted? And anyone know how to go about changing this?
Any help/advice much appreciated,
Clare

Inactive yahoo business email account?
I have a personal and business yahoo email account. The business account has become inactive and i opened an email before deleting / "de-linking" the account from my personal account. when opened, yahoo sent me to an "abuse" page and since then i have not been able to log into my personal account............Please advise!?!?!
Inactive yahoo business email account?
Yahoo! has a (dumb) rule that if you don't log in to your account for 4 months it gets deleted. Sorry but there's nothing you can do to get back your email. You can reactivate it though.

I have to change my email as I have a new web and business focus?
I need an email to replace my old one. the new one needs the word hypnosis. I have not been able to do that anywhere. i now have broadband and do not have to do dial up. Does that change my monthly rate?

Not sure I understand what you are asking here. Your monthly rate will depend upon your provider. Generally, (but there are exceptions) dial up is the cheapest. You need to contact whomever is providing the broadband service and ask them what the rate is.

Why Can't I get my business email, I keep getting error 15 and 16, this has been for 2 days?
Apparently Yahoo is updating all mail accounts, during the past couple of weeks users had problems with their private accounts, now users with business acounts are complaining. Here is what I suggested for private accounts - it helped in many instancies and will hopefully also work in your case:
A possible intermediate solution: log in, when it says "URL can't be found" go back to yahoo without logging out. Then click the mail button on top right. Any new messages should drop down. Right click on a message and select "open in new window".
In case this doesn't work either:
Easy Access:
In case your problem isn't resolved right away go to the link below. It is a site which lets you work with some basic mail functions.

Access Alternative:
Go to: http://services.mail2web.com/FreeService... - this is a free, secure and anonymous web based service which lets you retrieve your mail from almost any POP3 or IMAP4 email server, no registration is required.
Good luck!

Why are all the iPhone/Yahoo! business email questions deleted?
I can see numerous questions asking why Yahoo! Business email can't work with the iPhone in cached search engines, but ALL of these questions are inevitably deleted when I click on them (as I'm sure this question will be as well). Why is this? Is it ethical behavior to simply delete all questions that might be a bit embarassing to Yahoo!
Why are all the iPhone/Yahoo! business email questions deleted?
Not sure. You should send an e-mail to the people who run Yahoo Answers and ask.

I own a business and am trying to send multiple people the same email. How do I hide the addresses?
I've tried to use bcc, but it just puts the names back in the "to" part. Please help me.
I own a business and am trying to send multiple people the same email. How do I hide the addresses?
Don't know what version of the yahoo mail you are using, but I am going to tell you how to do it in regular yahoo mail and hoepfull Yahoo! Mail Beta has similar feature. In regular yahoo mail, you select "BCC" (which stands for blind carbon copy) to enter the address you don't want other recipients to know about. As for the To address, if you don't want any recipients to know about another one, you can always put down your own yahoo email address. Hope this helps.

Just notice your BCC comment. You have to enter something in To addresses, in this case, you can enter your own email address. Did not experience the names goes back to To addresses like you mentioned.

I have a business email I'm setting up. What is a Outgoing server SMTP?
When you set up an email client, you'll be asked for "Incoming mail (POP3)" and "Outgoing mail (SMTP)." The POP3 server is the one to which your client connects to receive your incoming mail. The SMTP server is the one to which your client connects to send your outgoing mail.
In many cases, the server names are the same. Sometimes, especially when the SMTP server requires a password and/or secure authentication, separate servers are used, like for Penn State:
Incoming server: email.psu.edu
Outgoing server: authsmtp.psu.edu
If you're setting up an email client, and you've only been given one email server address, then likely it's the same address for both incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP).

What are free email address sites that are fancier to use for a business, besides hotmail, yahoo, aol, ect?
Go to mail.com or email.com (i honestly don't remember which). You can select the address that works with the industry you're in, region you live, etc. Hope this helps.

How can i get my small business email account with my domain name to work with outlook express?
Configure it for your e-mail. To send mail it is usually smtp.mydomainname.com, for receiving - pop.mydomainname.com
But these may vary, so you'd better start with checking with your web space provider.
