How do i write a short,sweet email/sms introduction for my new,small business?

I have just set up a small business that allows people to send email and sms gift vouchers.I am yet to build a website for the business.I want to do some email and sms introductions to my friends/colleagues etc.

As part of the introductory offer i am giving 100 people a chance to send their friends a rose voucher.Which they will redeem for a real rose.

My problem is i dont know how to write the introduction email/sms giving this offer.I would like it to be sweet, humorous, short and capturing the point and if possible viral. The name of my business is Text-A-Gift and its motto is Spread Some Love.

I will give 5 postcards from Nairobi,Kenya, where my business is based to 5 people who will have the really great answers. .Please help

The easist and best way to write it is to find a freelance writer or someone you know is good at writing to help you. They will be objective.

Second to that, before you write, think of the following:

- 1) what is the number one thing you'd like the reader to do from reading your e-mail (call someone, buy something, etc.)

- 2) what audience are you trying to reach (teens, adults, baby boomers, etc., because this may determine your voice or the jokes you put in it

- 3) what is the voice of your business/product (is it sincere, sarcastic, funny, joyful, helpful, define it in one word), then write your paragraph and refer to that one word to see if that's what carries through

- 4) if you have a mission statement or purpose for your business, try to work it in too. Definitely work in your Spread Some Love motto, perhaps in a funny way ("As a gift giver myself, I'm looking to spread some love to those I know by giving you a voucher for a free rose.")

- 5) You could come up with an anecdote or a story that shows why you developed this site, why you think sharing is important, that may encourage the reader to do so, especially if you're offer is for free.
Reply:Go to local schools and colleges and speak with the english instructors...have a little contest where the winner would get a free dinner somewhere, or some such gift that you could easily afford...I used to work in a salon where the owner had trouble coming up with a new logo for his shop, and he went to the local high school art dept. and was swamped with entries!! the winner got some free haircuts...
