Is my email address appropriate to use for business and other professional purposes?

The primary email address I use is dubc82. Its basically like spelling my initials wc out. I know how companies and possibly universities look negatively on email addresses that are inappropriate. I know this isn't bad, but should I create one with my name to use. I don't want to change it because I have so many things set-up on it and it would be a hassle to change.

What you can always do, it set up a more professional one through Gmail, http://gmail.com. In your account settings, you can have any email that is sent to the new address forwarded to any other email address so you still have a professional email, but only have to check one account.
Reply:I don't think it's that bad, but I would create a new one to use professionally, regardless~just to keep from getting all the "fun" stuff from friends and family seperate from things you will be getting that are important and professional. It's easy to overlook things sometimes if you get a lot of mail, and you wouldn't want to do that with something very important. Plus~hard telling what you might send to your boss, etc. if you would accidentally hit the reply to all button;) Make your professional addy look professional...your first inital.lastname or something like that..you'll be taken more seriously, and they will remember you.

Good Luck!!
